I hoped to have this up as a video today, but I’m still struggling with getting any decent internet and could not upload my video without using all my phone data!  Therefore, whilst I wait for my wifi dongle to arrive (fingers crossed this will solve my internet problem) I thought I would write an intro into the video I was hoping to post….which is…

LOVE BOMBING!

If you have been pulled into Avatar, or any other abusive environment such as a cult, relationship or MLM.. it’s likely you have experienced being “love bombed”.

So what is love bombing?

Love bombing is an attempt to influence a person by demonstrations of attention and affection.  This tends to be excessive and full on.

What is love bombing in the context of cults?

Margaret Singer writes in her book, Cults in Our Midst:

As soon as any interest is shown by the recruits, they may be love bombed by the recruiter or other cult members.

Love bombing is a coordinated effort, usually under the direction of leadership, that involves long-term members’ flooding recruits and newer members with flattery, verbal seduction, affectionate but usually nonsexual touching, and lots of attention to their every remark. Love bombing – or the offer of instant companionship – is a deceptive ploy accounting for many successful recruitment drives.

I have done a video which not only introduces love bombing but how we tend to be “love bombed” into Avatar.

I also discuss the exercise “the serious drill” which is sadly all about love bombing new recruits and students (which Avatar Masters would not be aware of).

Stay posted for my video.

All the best

Amanda
